RED Day 2019 | Help us give back

For those of you that helped us collect food last year, we are partnering again this year with ‘Got Your Back, San Diego.’ Join us on Thursday, May 9th at the Oceanside Ralphs located at: 101 Old Grove Rd, Oceanside, CA 92057

RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate, is our annual day of service. Each year on the second Thursday of May, we celebrate RED Day as a part of our legacy worth leaving. Making a difference in the lives of others and bettering the communities that we serve lies at the heart of the Keller Williams culture. This observance defines who we are and is a natural extension of our commitment to the highest level of professional customer service. Over time, a growing number of our family members and friends continue to participate in this extraordinary event. It embodies the generous spirit and commitment associates have to “giving back" to the cities and towns they live and work in.

About the charity

Got Your Back San Diego is a weekend food assistance program developed specifically for children who do not have reliable access to a sufficient amount of affordable, nutritious food. Currently we serve a small portion of children in the tri-city area of Northwest County where alone there are over 7,000 elementary grade students who have little to no food of any nutritional value after they leave school on Friday, until they return on Monday.

Every week, volunteers come to our Oceanside warehouse to fill backpacks with 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, 2 dinners, and a few healthy snacks, enough food to sustain a child throughout the weekend. On Thursdays, additional volunteers deliver the backpacks to the schools, where a designated school liaison distributes full backpacks to the children in need and collects the empty backpacks from the prior week. Also included in each backpack are interactive homework assignments that teach kids about food and making healthy food choices.

Got Your Back San Diego is a DBA of American Relief Organization, an IRS registered 501c3 nonprofit organization, exclusively supported 100% by local businesses, churches, social organizations and private individuals.
